1993 ISOC Trustees Election
Nominated Candidate
Gary Malkin
gmalkin@xylogics.com
Gary Scott Malkin received his B.A. in Computer Science from Boston
University in 1983 and his M.S. in 1992. After almost five years
working for Spartacus (he was the model for Fibronics' two
advertisements), and almost four years elsewhere, he is now happy as a
Principal Software Engineer at Xylogics in Burlington Mass. Gary is
an active member of the Internet Engineering Task Force. He is a
member of the User Services Advisory Council and has chaired several
Working Groups. Currently, he is the chair of the RIP-2 Working Group
and co-chair of the Internet User Glossary Working Group. He is an
author of several RFCs, including the "Questions and Answers" FYI

Here are a few specifics:
I have attended 13 of the last 15 IETF Plenary meetings; my first
was Ann Arbor in October 1988. I am a Pioneer member of the ISOC.
I authored, coauthored or edited the following RFCs: 1150 - FYI on
FYI; 1177, 1206, 1325 - Questions and Answers for New Users; 1207 -
Questions and Answers for Experienced Users; 1251, 1336 - Who's Who
Biographies. Additionally, there are three RFCs in the pipe for
RIP-2, a fourth for the Internet Glossary, a fifth for the IETF
Users Guide, and a sixth for a new Traceroute protocol. In addition
to RFCs, I have authored two articles for the Internet Society News
(vol 1, numbers 1 and 3) and two articles for ConneXions (vol 5,
number 8; and TBA).
